The Grand! Dec 14, 2001 to Jan 13, 2002

This is the story of another "almost" sabbatical from work... actually I was just using 6 weeks of my saved up vacation time.

In more ways than one, this was a trip of a lifetime and has forever changed me.I was fortunate enough to have participated in something that is amazing, I was physically challenged, mentally and visually satiated, and... I met Kirsten, the most wonderful person in my life. You see, I can now say that I have kayaked the Grand and met the love of my life!

How it all started...

I found a message on our local paddling club mailing list last September 2001 for a 30 day winter river trip in the Grand Canyon.
